A PyPI update called ufo-spacing-lib has nothing to do with unidentified aerial phenomena and everything to do with font margins.
Grade this one F for flying saucers, A for typesetting. UFO here stands for Unified Font Object, a standard for font source files. Version 0.4.3 manages kerning, margins and groups. That’s it.
No radar tracks. No pilot testimony. No Pentagon briefing. Just a Python library that helps type designers avoid ugly letter spacing, updated by someone who presumably knew exactly what search traffic this filename would attract.
The only mystery here is why a spacing tool needed a minor version bump; the changelog, per usual PyPI practice, is thin. Nothing non-human involved. Carry on.
