Seventy years of searching still yields fragments, not proof

Space Daily’s roundup of Mars, K2-18b and UAP evidence reads more like a catalogue of near-misses than a case for contact.

Perseverance’s leopard-spotted rock produced a plausible biosignature signal, not a confirmed one. The chemistry at Vera Rubin ridge could equally be abiotic, and nobody on Earth has ruled that out yet.

K2-18b’s dimethyl sulfide claim, 124 light-years off, hangs on a signal several independent teams cannot reproduce at the same confidence. Extraordinary claim, ordinary noise.

UAP reports run into the thousands, yet no debris, no metal fragment, no verified physical trace has turned up in nearly seventy years. Most resolve to balloons, drones or sensor artefacts once someone checks properly; the small residue that doesn’t isn’t evidence of aliens, it’s evidence of gaps in the paperwork.
