What was I thinking? starting a magazine isn’t easy at all…
Here’s some advice for those who ever have the urge to create an online magazine: invest in some comfy pants. There will nights where you will vacate from the sofa only to refill your empty wine glass. Your new best friend will be the lovely sign language lady on the 24 hour news and your nutrition will mainly come from black coffee and cheese based snacks.
But at least it looks good, right?
Issue one is here folks and you’re looking directly into its clean-cut soul. Does it feel good?
I’m both pleased and relieved at how many people have helped get this mammoth up and running. It’s amazing just how much it has grown already from a little idea of collecting a few opinion pieces and uploading them to the web. Who knew there were so many budding writers, reviewers and artists out there…
We’ve got some cracking articles in this issue; political commentary, self portrait photography, food reviews, haiku’s, Youtube’s, and even cryogenic toads. It’s all there.
A few things to note;
The PDF based magazine has been left out in favour of focusing on the online aspect. It might return, but one of the key things is to test what works and what doesn’t. So let’s see if it is missed.
‘Sponsor messages’ are now floating around to test how adverts could be plugged into the site. What do you think? Does this make sense?
And the general tweaking and tinkering is still (as always) ongoing.
A huge thanks to all involved in this issue.
Make sure to get in touch and let us know what you think!
